YOUR WORSHIP WILL BE YOUR DOOM

I’m sure that all Christians have friends or family that they are concerned about. Their friends or family members are “Christians” as well, and are living a lifestyle that the Bible expressly forbids. We love them, and are concerned about their eternal future, but we fail to say anything because, 1. We have a fear of alienating them; 2. Satan stops us with the question, “Who are you to say anything? You have your own issues? Your past certainly doesn’t give you the right to say anything.”

There are many Christians who go to church regularly and worship but will be shocked to hear these words from the Bible. “You’ve chosen your fate. Your worship will be your doom.”(Isaiah 57: 6, MSG) To whom am I referring too? Here’s just one example of many. There are those in the church today who are sleeping with their girlfriend/boyfriend (fornication), or are sleeping with someone who is not their wife/husband (adultery), and for whatever reason, they justify what they are doing and have no guilt.

In v. 8 of the same chapter it says this: “Behind closed doors you assemble your precious gods and goddesses. Deserting me, you’ve gone all out, stripped down and made your bed your place of worship.” (Isaiah 57: 6,8, MSG)

They go to church and worship but the one they are truly worshiping every other day of the week is “self.” They want what they want, and it doesn’t matter what the Bible says. “Because the sentence against an evil act is not executed quickly, the hearts of the sons of men are fully set to do evil.” ( Ecclesiastes 8:11, AMP) Don’t make the terrible mistake that God is condoning your sin because there aren’t immediate consequences. “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” ( Galatians 6:7, NLT)

“And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.” (2 Corinthians 5:15, AMPC) The reason Jesus came was to set us free from the god “self.”

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, NKJV)
